we sold our house

we sold our house

I’ve been having lots of different emotions these last couple of days. We sold our house—and I’m happy about it, but I’m also really sad about it. I’m happy because selling our house in a matter of two months is a really big accomplishment. We were able to make a teeny tiny bit of profit even though we’ve only been living there for a little over a year. And we were able to move our life to Indiana fully and finally start our adventure here. But I’m sad because I loved that house. I have tons of memories and life changing events that happened in that house. And I’m also scared for our future in Indiana a little bit.

i quit my job

i quit my job

Friday marked my last day as a Cerner employee. After almost three years of technical support work I am grateful for the experience, the knowledge, and the customer service opportunities that I had. I worked with many amazing people and witnessed the constant shift and changes in the company that help it grow. However, I am prepared and excited to embark on my next mission--one that better fits my work style, allows me to be creative, gives me more day-to-day freedom, and puts me and my family first. I am excited to be in charge of my own day, work on projects that have a definitive end, and celebrate more accomplishments. Here's to the future!

a new year's book haul

a new year's book haul

One of my goals for 2019 (and every year for that matter) is to read more. I always start off so strong at the beginning of the new year, and then taper off and forget to read as the months go by. This year is probably not going to be any different, but I’m still really pumped to be getting back into reading now.

Starting off the new year means rushing to Barnes & Nobel to buy all of the books which will inspire me to read. I’ve also collected a few from Half Priced Books over the past couple of months, so I will show those here as well.

This is big news! It’s really exciting, it’s really scary, and it's going to be a really big change. But we are so pumped for this. I mentioned in my 2019 post that we would have some exciting changes to announce and this was one of them. If you’ve been reading my blog for the past year or so, you’ll know that firstly I haven’t been posting like AT. ALL. Secondly, that I haven’t been happy lately. And finally, that I constantly say “I hate my job.” Well this is us taking steps to fix these problems.

goodbye 2018, hello 2019

goodbye 2018, hello 2019

I have mixed feelings about this past year. It was a difficult one. I suffered with depressive feelings and thoughts throughout the entirety of 2018, I struggled to find my purpose and decide what makes me happy, and I didn’t meet as many of my goals that I had set for myself as I had planned. But, it was also a memorable year. I started Lang Videography and filmed quite a few weddings that I’m rather proud of. I opened my Etsy shop, Digidanico. Then most importantly, I married the man of my dreams, my rock, my everything, and together we went on an amazing Midwest road trip.

The last week of June in 2017 I bought a Happy Planner with the intention of memory planning in it every week. That lasted about a month (which is actually pretty good, haha), but then life got in the way and I quit doing it. I quickly realized though that this was the perfect place for me to document the “story” of Trevor and I, and it became a place for me to scrapbook the weeks that were important to our relationship. This is the scrapbook of Our Story, the first year together before being married.

becoming a videographer

I wanted to write this post today about Lang Videography. For those of you who may be unaware, I started a videography business earlier this year. We’ve booked a a good number of wedding events so far, and it’s been a great learning experience. I’m really excited for the future of Lang Videography, so I wanted to share some of my work here.
