July 2021 Recap -- wrapping up weddings, nesting, and lots of cleaning

Let me first start off this recap blog post by saying that I am exhausted. Getting anything done in these few months has been so hard for me. Now that I am in the third trimester I feel like my body no longer wants to do anything besides rest and nest. July was one of my last productive months. And while the months ahead need to be super productive as well, it’s suddenly become a lot harder.

Anyways, hi, how are you? It’s time for a quick July 2021 recap.

We’re wrapping up weddings.

July was my last full month of weddings. While I have a few weddings sprinkling into the beginning of August, for the most part the bulk of my wedding season is over. I truly love documenting weddings and capturing them with photo and video, but I am excited to say that I am so ready for this chapter to be put on pause. This is because as weddings dwindle down that means that baby is coming soon! I am so excited to meet baby boy, so I need to be done with weddings soon so that I can begin my β€œmaternity leave.”

Speaking of maternity leave… I’m not really taking one. When baby boy decides to make his appearance into this world I am hoping that I can be caught up on all previous wedding highlight videos that need to be edited and photos galleries delivered, but work is actually still happening behind the scenes. We have quite a few weddings in September that we have hired Associates to work on our behalf. However, we are still doing all of the editingβ€”that means, the work still goes on, I just get to stay at home.

Since this is my first child, I’m truly hoping that I don’t over do it. But the closer we get to my delivery date, the more I realize that I actually have lots of work still happening. Either way, we’ll make do with whatever happens.

I also shared THE CUTEST little newborn video and photos on the LVP Studios blog earlier in July. I can’t wait until we can introduce our little bundle of joy to the world in a similar way. This is why I love what I do in capturing memories for others via LVP Studios. We can take these moments and document them for you in such special ways.

Other things on the blog.

I shared a few good blog posts this past month that I want to make sure you didn’t miss. One of which is all about why you need to be getting family photos done every year (something my family and I plan to do, and I am very passionate about). The blog post talks about some old photographs I found and how these photos have taught me just how important it is to take family photos every year. It’s something I was aware of, and it’s something that I constantly preach to my clients. But looking at old photos actually evoked that feeling that I’m trying to express to everyone else and it just made it all click.

I also talked on my personal blog this month about why you need to figure out your β€œwhy” when it comes to memory keeping. Your β€œwhy” is what keeps you going. It’s the reason you schedule those family photos every year, it’s the reason you continue to vlog or journal or whatever it is you do. The task of memory keeping can be daunting or feel like a chore, but if you have a clear reason then it keeps you going. Also, your β€œwhy” gives a focus to what you’re doing--no more random iPhone pictures just sitting in an unorganized album on your phone. And finally, having a reason why allows you to have a meaning behind spending time on something like memory keeping.

Besides working, I’ve been doing a lot of cleaning.

Nesting, nesting, and more nesting. When I’m not doing LVP Studios related work or creating content for any of my other platforms/creative outlets, then I am busy nesting. I am at the stage in my pregnancy where all I want to do is clean the entire house and organize everything. I have a million projects I want to complete before baby gets here, there’s furniture that needs built, closets that need organized, and the laundry is constantly going.

I’ve always liked to keep a tidy home, but this is bringing everything to an entirely new level. I think even Trevor might be slightly annoyed.

It’s so crazy to me to think that the next time I am typing up and update (the August update) I will probably have a baby in my arms. Our little one is due early September, so unless I get the August Recap blog post our right away, he will most likely be here at that time. This is just wild. Time has flown!!

If you missed any of my previous Recap blog posts you can check them out linked below. I’ve done recaps on my blog off and on for a long time, but really started doing them regularly again when we announced we were pregnant because I knew that I would want to look back on all of these months.
