Wowwee, March was a heck of a month for us. I didn’t realize how crazy it was until I was sitting down to draft together this blog post and share all of the things that we posted and did in the last month. It’s been a wild one for sure. Some of the big hits were us announcing our pregnancy (obviously), launching a podcast, and diving more into sharing our entire journey online.

We announced we were pregnant

While this was something that didn’t necessarily happen in March, the announcement came during this month so that’s reason for celebration enough. Trevor and I had known we were pregnant since January, but sharing the news with the rest of the world made us feel those butterflies of excitement all over again. We were so thrilled with the response we got back and so many congratulations that we received. It made us (and future baby) feel so loved. You can read more about my pregnancy in this blog post.

In anticipation for the amount of people who were new to our youtube channel that might be stumbling upon us now that we were announcing we were pregnant, we decided to drop a new channel trailer. I absolutely love our channel trailers and spend so much time ensuring that they truly encapsulate what it means to be T&D Do Life and what our channel is all about. Our new channel trailer talks about who were are, us trying to start a family, and us finally getting the positive pregnancy test we’ve been waiting for.

If you’re knew to our channel too, then you can check out our youtube channel by clicking the button below and subscribing so you never miss a new video. Trevor (my husband) and I vlog our daily lives as a means of memory keeping. We try to use our channel to capture those memories for ourselves, but also to show others how they can easily vlog and document their lives too.

I launched a podcast

My friend Katie (of Katie Osborn Photography) and I launched a podcast!! It’s called, The Memories Podcast, and is a podcast dedicated to helping busy families learn how to document their everyday lives using easy and consistent methods. We’re teaching people like you the tried and true methods that we’ve picked up over the years of how to document your everyday moments when life just seems way too busy. We talk about our personal lives, the lessons we’ve learned, and all of the mistakes we may have made along the way.

Since our launch on March 10th, we’ve already dropped over 4 episodes jam packed with helpful information like: Finding your why, Getting started with Memory Keeping, Our favorite Memory Keeping apps, and Backing up your memories.

We’re inching closer to busy season

In case you don’t know, I own a photography and videography business called LVP Studios. While work is still chill (exactly how I want it to be right now), I can tell that we’re inching closer to the busy season. I had a couple of really fun sessions this month, but spent most of my time talking with upcoming brides and grooms, chatting with potential clients and future brides, and getting things scheduled out for the warmer months.

I had a lovely engagement session with an August bride and groom that are getting married later this summer. I LOVED this engagement session, and it’s probably one of my favorites to date. Honestly, a big part of it has to do with the fact that it’s shot on my brand new camera that I got late last year. Also, I loved the location where we were (and definitely want to be going back with more couples soon).

I also did an in-studio cake smash for the most ornery little one year old. We took some very nice one-year photos, then got down to our overalls for a cake smash before ending the session in the tin basin for a milk bath and lots of splashing.

And then to wrap things up I also had a headshot session in downtown Indianapolis with some great young entrepreneurs starting a new business venture. Though it wasn’t many sessions this month, it is exactly how I want it to be during the first few months of a new year. This is my slow time before I ramp into having weddings every single weekend and sometimes more than one in a single weekend!!

Happy and full, but mostly happy

All-in-all the month flew by and was actually full of so much more action than I ever thought was going to happen. I still am in shock that we are a quarter of the way through the year. Pregnancy is making me especially aware of how time seems to go by so fast. Before we know it our little baby will be here with us, and we won’t know how we ever lived without him or her.

Things like this also make me grateful that we are constantly documenting our lives—whether that’s with vlogs or home videos or photos on our phone. No matter what, it’s super important for Trevor and I to be capturing these moments and keeping them for ourselves (while also documenting certain things and sharing them with others too, of course). Having a month that felt so fast and felt not nearly as eventful as it actually was and then seeing it all documented out on a recap blog posts puts things into perspective in regards to what we so easily can miss and gloss over in our lives.

I’ve said this a lot on my LVP Studios website, but I’m not sure how often it’s properly reiterated here… but your story matters!! And it’s important for you to be that one to document your story in the only way possible.
