I'm Pregnant!!

So, in case you missed it, I’m pregnant!! My husband and I announced to the world this past Monday that we are expecting a little one this coming September. We’ve known since the beginning of January, but have been keeping my little bump a secret until now. It’s so refreshing to finally be able to tell all of you and feel your love and support. We’ve been creating videos as a form of memory keeping, and have been recording everything along the way.

Firstly, a little about us.

If you’re new here—Hey, I’m Danyell, and this is my husband Trevor. We met in 2016, got married in 2018, and have just been living life with you all on our vlogs ever since. We focus on documenting the every day, sharing our memories with others, and just doing life as our own little family.

This past year we decided that this family was ready to grow. After a few failed months of trying, we were finally able to get that positive pregnancy test we’ve been waiting for. A little munchkin will be joining our family this fall. We hope you’ll stick around. We’d love to have you do life with us.

Here’s how it went.

I’ve been dying to have a baby. Basically right after the moment we got married I was ready, but Trevor was not. I gave him a hard time about this, and within the last year our families had kind of been giving him a hard time about this as well. But to be honest, I am so glad that we waited. The timing now just feels so perfect, and I couldn’t imagine having a baby during all of the trails and changes we experienced the last couple of years.

Trevor and I finally made the joint decision to start trying to grow our family in early fall of 2020. We tried for quite a few months with no success which started to make me worry, but I knew that this was a common part of the journey and our time would eventually come (one way or another).

After talking with many people, we knew that some of our issues was with my levels of stress. I am a very high stress person—it’s just how I live my life. So, I learned that managing my stress was going to be a big part of us trying to conceive. Funnily enough, December, the month where I was least stressed about trying to get pregnant, was the month that we actually conceived. It worked!

Finding out I’m pregnant and telling my husband.

On January 2nd I decided to take a test. I was a day or two late which was cause for concern since I am typically so regular on my cycle. I chickened out and didn’t take the test in the morning, but as the day went on I couldn’t stop thinking about the little baby that could possibly be growing inside me.

Later in the afternoon, after Trevor had ventured downstairs to play video games with his friends, I finally took the test. I nervously recorded the whole thing (which you can now view on our youtube channel), and you can feel my anxiety as you rewatch those clips. Three minutes of stress later… the test was positive!! Of course, I cried, I laughed, I didn’t know how to take in this exciting new information. And then I freaked. I needed to know what to do and how to tell Trevor.

Telling Trevor was a bit tricky. I wanted to take a pregnancy test that actually had the words “positive” on it because I knew that would be better for him to understand. But, Trevor and I do everything together, so getting out of the house alone to buy that test and take it in private was going to be hard.

Thankfully, I was able to sneak away (aka make up an excuse to leave the house). I came back with the pregnancy test taped to a bag of Doritos and just waited for him to see it. After excruciatingly long hours of waiting he finally saw it!! I told him “I can’t be the only one getting fat,” and he looked in the bag to see the test taped to the front.

We were both over-the-moon happy that day!! He supported me so much, we watched the videos of me taking the first test alone, and then talked all night about our exciting new future.

Sharing the news with others.

After our first few appointments we were finally ready to tell friends and family. Of course everyone flipped out and were so excited to hear the news. And then last week we posted everything on social media. We shared our first video on YouTube, and then shared images on Instagram & Facebook.

I love some of our onesie pictures that we took. I had a onesie that said “Assistant Photographer” to announce the pregnancy on my LVP Studios Instagram page for all of my photography and videography clients. Feeling the love from them was overwhelming and so amazing. Trevor also had a onesie that said “Player 3 Loading…” which he used to post an image on his Gaming Twitter account.

We’ve recorded everything along the way, and are so exciting to be sharing this journey with those that follow along on our Youtube channel. The next video we will be releasing is the video compilation of us telling all of our friends and family. Rewatching that video myself still makes me smile ear to ear.

Trevor and I would love to have you join us over on YouTube to share in this pregnancy journey. As we always say—we’d love to have you do life with us!!
