Thanksgiving 2016
Trevor and I made the trip all the way back to Indiana for Thanksgiving with my family. My parent's were hosting for the entire extended clan!! This was time for Trevor to meet EVERYONE. We had a great time and loved every moment that we could spend with my family.
Decorating the Christmas Tree
I will always have a Christmas tree for all of my childhood ornaments. No matter how old I get, or how trendy it is to have themed Christmas trees, I will always showcase my bloody snowman that I made when I was two, and my recycled girl scout ornaments made out of CDs
We made some food
Trevor and I made vegetarian stuffed shells--3 kinds of cheese, lots of ricotta, spinach, and marinara sauce.
Let's catch up on work
Work is going good. A generic answer, but that's truly how I feel about it. I know a lot of my family is going to be reading this post, wondering if I can finally explain what the heck I do--and well, it's complicated. I fix data and software and reports and computers that break for hospitals that have Cerner solutions and our Registration software.
Hello.
I've thought, and sulked, and immensely pondered about how I'm going to go about this post. Do I explain everything that all of you internet friends have missed? Do I share every aspect of my life in the last few months? Every time I give you an update I almost always say that "so much has changed." This time I'm just going to say that everything you thought you knew about me is now completely different.
August 2016 Goals
It's been awhile since I've done a goals post. Actually, my last goals post was wayyyy back in March. Ever since then, my goals have mostly just been to find a job, graduate college, survive a move across 3 states, and pretend I know what I'm doing as an adult. I feel like I've done pretty good so far! So, now I'm ready to keep a focused mind and start setting monthly goals again.
Another weekly update
Isn't it funny that this is the end-game that we all strive to achieve-- we want to move out, find our life partner, get the job, and then life will go on perfect and happy. And then when this does happen you're left wondering what is left to do. I am VERY happy with the way that everything is unfolding for Skylar and I here in Kansas City. It's just strange to look back and realize that we've hit this big milestone that I've been striving to achieve for so long.
Wow, it's been awhile
Hello my lovely blog readers! I have left you in the dust for awhile--and I guess that's what happens when your life throws new routines at you left and right. But finally, and I hopefully mean finally, I have established a good daily plan and positive mental state to take on blogging again while working a full time job. So it looks like we have lots of catching up to do!
A double date and other fun weekend stuff
Skylar and I are finally starting to settle in. I am finding some of my favorite spots to hang out, am feeling comfortable at work, and am making friends along the way. This past weekend we went on a double date with a friend of mine, who I met at work, and her husband. It was a really great time, and I love that we are starting to really feel like ourselves here in Kansas City.
The move to Kansas City
Moving across states is tricky and challenging. There has been a lot of virtual planning, plenty of ups and downs, and tons of changes that have made Skylar and I really have to grow up. We didn't have internet for awhile, so I basically took a break from blogging and didn't stress about trying to keep things updated. But now I have lots to share.
