More coming soon!!
Boy, do Sky and I have some stories to tell!! It has been a crazy rough couple of weeks, and absolutely nothing like we had expected. I am sorry that I have let you down both on my blog and through YouTube. Skylar and I will be back very very soon.
Our last week in Indiana
This past week was bitter sweet. Skylar and I got to spend some time with our family over Memorial Day Weekend, but we were also busy packing. Thinking about being an 8 hour drive away from home is very sad, yet we are excited for this next journey. We can't believe this is our last week in Indiana.
Hiking at Brown County State Park
Memorial Day weekend is all about spending time with family, eating good food, and hanging out outside! At least that's what we like to do. It's a time to be thankful for what you have and the people who fought for the land you live on. This weekend we took a trip to Brown County State Park while Sky's family was in town. We hiked the trails, looked out at the water, and even saw baby woodpeckers! It was a great trip.
Reflecting on my previous jobs
I start my first ever full-time job very soon. My first day is Monday, June 6th. As that day approaches I am starting to realize how grateful I am that I have this opportunity. I am thankful that Cerner offered me a job that could allow me to expand and grow, I am fortunate that I can pack up my life and go where ever they say, and most of all, I am thankful that I had amazing jobs in the past that gave me great experience!
We move in two weeks
At this point we are basically ONLY thinking about the fact that we are moving in 2 weeks!! It seems to unreal, and I am getting more nervous and more excited every single day. During this past week, when I wasn't working for IT Training I was spending most of my time cleaning the house. I wanted everything to be prepared so that when we go to box things up very soon we won't have to worry much about cleaning or organizing lots of messes.
Finding an apartment in Kansas City
Hunting down a place to live can be a stressful situation. Finding a place to live when Sky and I were simply moving from one side of town to the other seemed crazy enough, but now we are moving across states!! As our move-out date gets closer and closer I am starting to get more and more stressed out! There seems like there is so much to do, and accomplishing all of the tasks that need to get done virtually from Indiana is not only a pain for us, but it has been a pain for the leasing agency in Kansas City.
Becoming the person I want to be
I talk about change a lot on my blog. Change is good, especially when it is positive. But any sort of change in all shapes and sizes has ultimately shaped you and me into this thing that we are today. Lately, I've been thinking about this thing that is me, and for the first time (probably ever) I finally feel like I am confidently representing the me I am meant to be.
A new vlogging camera
Last week I talked about how we started creating weekly vlogs in order to document our lives. Well this week we are taking it to the next level. Instead of creating videos using our iPhones, Skylar and I have purchased the Olympus TG-870! A tough camera built to be dropped, taken underwater, thrown in the sand, and survive whatever craziness that our life throws in its way.
My capsule wardrobe
I've been going through a wardrobe crisis lately. Okay, maybe that's a little dramatic, but in all honesty, I just haven't been happy with the clothes I own. If you know me at all (or follow me on Instagram) you'll see that I basically wear the same thing all the time--denim jacket, white t-shirt, black pants--or some form of that same outfit. I wanted to spice things up a little, but still stay true to who I am, aka a Basic B*tc#!
Our new Pruis
I've never owned a car before. Ever!! But now, I am the proud owner of a 2015 Black Toyota Prius 3. Skylar and I knew that we wanted a Prius, actually we've known for quite a while. But being broke college students, we were not able to purchase one. That all changed on April 1st, 2015 when we went to the Toyota dealership "just to look."
