April Reads
Every month I write a Monthly Reads blog post in which I talk about books I read the previous month and books that I plan to read in the current month. Last month, March, I hit a way--the biggest reading slump I've been in all year. I couldn't even finish a single book. Read more on this post to see how I plan to get out of the slump.
Mar 27 - Apr 2 | Weekly Vlog
Hello again! This week was full of spring time fun. The weekend was especially filled with lots of gardening and even the creation of a new worm composting tote. This is all going out on the patio! I've been posting about all of this on my social media lately, so make sure you're following me on Twitter if you haven't already.
April Bullet Journal
April is spring time, and that's what my bullet journal is all about this month. I loved setting up all of my monthly pages for this section! The colors look nice and the design I chose really fits how I'm feeling this month. I hope that you like my April Bullet Journal spread!
All the Bright Places | book review
The book was nominated for the 2015 Goodreads Choice Award for Young Adult Fiction. And I really wish that I had read it sooner. I rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars, and would definitely recommend this to all young adult readers. The month of February was when I truly just flew through books, and this was another one of those that I read in one sitting. I'm on a roll with one sitting books--like, this one, and this one, and this one.
April 2017 Goals
I didn't exactly accomplish all of the goals that I had hoped to, but then again, I focused on a lot of things that I really hadn't planned to. My bullet journal became a big part of last month. And so did my family. Even though things don't always go as planned, often times going with the flow allows for things to work out for the better.
Mar 20 - 26 | Weekly Vlog
Here's a recap of our week: Monday was free ice cream day from Dairy Queen, so we took full advantage of that. Skye even got her own ice cream, which she enjoyed. Wednesday was spent with an awesome Wine Wednesday, even though I drank way too much. On Friday Trevor gave blood and we went on a date night to watch the movie Get Out. After the movie we went home and I fell asleep, while Trevor waited for a surprise to come.
Wintergirls | book review
I'm seriously becoming a huge fan of Laurie Halse Anderson. Her last book that I read I few through in one sitting, and the same was true about this book. As soon as I started reading Wintergirls one Sunday morning, I could not put it down until I had finished the entire thing. I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars, and I would recommend this to teens and young adults who are interested in novels about teens in real life struggling with real life issues.
Mar 13 - 19 | Weekly Vlog
This week we didn't get much filming done, but the filming we did do was pretty great! We kicked off our week on Friday where we took Skye on a walk and got some pizza for the KU game. KU won, so that made for a FUN night with a happy Trevor and SLIME! We started Saturday with some tennis and finished building our new fort. In our fort we watched the movie "USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage". Sunday Danyell got some much needed rest while Trevor played video games.
Journal Prompts #1
Journaling has become such a big part of my daily life. I literally journal about anything and everything. Sometimes I do a stream of consciousness where I just write everything that I am thinking in the moment, sometimes I write out all the tasks and events I completed during my day, and sometimes I ask questions and answer my own inquiries. For journal newbies it can be hard to get the hang of writing so freely--at least it was for me in the beginning--so sometimes it's good to have a little more structure. That's what these journaling prompts are for.
My Bullet Journal Daily Pages
A bullet journal is basically any notebook you want turned into everything that you need. For me, it's a place to plan out my day, create to do lists, journal, and take notes. To you a bullet journal might be something completely different. That's the best part about bullet journaling--you make it work for you. This post is going to show you how I personally do my daily pages. I am hoping it inspires you! But by all means, don't forget that a bullet journal is YOURS and you should make it suit you.
