Greysen's 3 year old photos
Hello, hello, hello! We’re finally getting back into the swing of things after busy season and the holidays. Once I feel caught up on all my work is when I can finally tackle personal projects. I take photos for a living, so trust me when I say I have PLENTY of photos of our boys, but often times they don’t get edited or simply get put on the back-burner until after client work is completely finished. Now that the busy season is officially through I firstly decided to edit Greysen’s 3 year old photos I took at the studio back in September.

Forrest is 6 months old!
Well well well ACTUALLY Forrest is now 11 months old. But these are his 6 month photos that I never shared. And gosh darn it, he’s too cute not to share, right?! Here’s what I wrote on Instagram when he officially turned half a year old: The longest and hardest months for us… little sleep, lots of tears (mostly from me), and tons of growth on everyone’s part. We’re so grateful to have Mr. Forrest as part of our family and all the things he’s taught us.

a re-introduction & our 2024 family photos
Hi! My name’s Danyell, and I’m so glad to have you here reading my blog. Whether you know me in person, or you’ve somehow stumbled upon my blog randomly (which I highly doubt, so please tell me how you got here??!), I want to take the time to really re-introduce myself to anyone who is reading this entry.

Greysen's 2 year old photos
Greysen turned two back in September, but I’m just now getting around to editing and uploading these photos. This sweet boy was born during busy wedding season when I’m consumed with work year after year, so his sessions are always put on the back burner, haha!

Our 2023 family photos
Here’s our 2023 family photos! I use these blog posts more as a place to post and share our family photos than as a blog post to educate about memory keeping or anything. It’s a good reminder for all of you to hire a professional, get photos done, and keep documenting your lives. Since Greysen was born we’ve been getting family photos done every single year.

A letter to my husband on our 5th anniversary
Dear Trevor, Five years of loving you has never went by so fast! We’ve done so much together, grown so much together, and are somehow the same people and different people at the same time. After over five years together I love that we’ve been able to change and become better versions of ourselves while loving each other every step of the way—that’s truly what makes our relationship so great!

Greysen's 1 year old photos & cake smash
In September this year Greysen will be 2 years old! Time has truly flown by. That being said, I never got around to posting a blog showcasing his photos from his one year old session and cake smash. So, before he turns another year older, I figured I better feature his 1 year old photos on our blog.

Our 2022 family photos
I don’t think there’s much need for text here… mostly I just want a place to post and share our family photos. But, serious question—How often do you get family photos? Our goal is to get family photos every year. And then extended family photos for my side of the family and Trevor’s side of the family every other year. That means this year we’re getting THREE different family portrait sessions. Thankfully I LOVE pictures. Here is session #1… our little family.

5 reasons to get family photos every year
Lately I’ve been going through lots of family photo albums. I have been spending a lot more time at my Grandma’s house going through old shoeboxes full of pictures and albums that are literally falling apart at the seams. But without fail, whenever I go through these images or show them again to someone else, the world seems to light up one notch. Pictures evoke memories! Even if you can’t personally recall the moment, there’s something about a picture that tells a story of a past time that makes you smile no matter what.

4 steps for being in your own Photos & Videos (The Memories Podcast Ep. 005)
In this episode of The Memories Podcast, Katie and I give you a pep talk on confidence and chat about the four ways that you can easily get yourself in front of the camera. We talk about the importance of getting yourself in your own photos and videos, times in which we had wished we had been in our own images more, and some of the things that we do to achieve that now.
