in the thicc of work | wk. 42 recap
Fall is busy season for photographers, so we’re really in the thick of work over here. It’s stressful and overwhelming, and while I’ll probably spend a lot of my fall days complaining about how I don’t have enough time to get all of the things done that I need to, I am super grateful for the work that I get to do. I mean, I bust my booty June-October just to do nearly nothing all of the other months in between. 🤷🏼♀️
the start of something new
“It’s the start of something new…” Cue the high school music song 🎵 Okay, but really, now I’ve got that stuck in my head, so let’s just roll with it. Annnyyyways, hello! I’m blogging like a journal for the first time in years. I’ve truly missed just yapping with you all (or yapping to myself, I’m not sure who even reads these). In case you’re new here, you’re probably wondering why I’m going completely unhinged with these random writings, and honestly, same. Basically here’s the update—I’ve revamped my blog!
WE HAD ANOTHER BABY | Forrest's Newborn Photos
While it’s been over six months since he was born, we never officially introduced you to our newest addition to the family. Meet Forrest Allen Lang! Born on December 8, 2023. Weighing 8lbs 12oz and 21in in length. We will be sharing more about his birth story soon on the blog, but for now… please enjoy these super adorable newborn photos!
Greysen's 2 year old photos
Greysen turned two back in September, but I’m just now getting around to editing and uploading these photos. This sweet boy was born during busy wedding season when I’m consumed with work year after year, so his sessions are always put on the back burner, haha!
Our 2023 family photos
Here’s our 2023 family photos! I use these blog posts more as a place to post and share our family photos than as a blog post to educate about memory keeping or anything. It’s a good reminder for all of you to hire a professional, get photos done, and keep documenting your lives. Since Greysen was born we’ve been getting family photos done every single year.
We stopped vlogging & here's why
You may have noticed we stopped vlogging on our YouTube channel. This was kind of a big deal because our channel was how we shared about our every day lives and was the back bone of what I shared on this blog. YouTube was always our big memory keeping method and not doing it was a heartbreaking decision, but at the time, a totally necessary one. We haven’t vlogged on YouTube in over a year, and I wanted to share a little bit about why that happened.
A letter to my husband on our 5th anniversary
Dear Trevor, Five years of loving you has never went by so fast! We’ve done so much together, grown so much together, and are somehow the same people and different people at the same time. After over five years together I love that we’ve been able to change and become better versions of ourselves while loving each other every step of the way—that’s truly what makes our relationship so great!
Greysen's 1 year old photos & cake smash
In September this year Greysen will be 2 years old! Time has truly flown by. That being said, I never got around to posting a blog showcasing his photos from his one year old session and cake smash. So, before he turns another year older, I figured I better feature his 1 year old photos on our blog.
Introducing Heirloom Albums: Memories that will last a lifetime! (The LVP Newsletter wk. 33)
Introducing Heirloom Albums Memories that will last a lifetime! The photos and videos that we document for you have always been as a means to hold a moment in time--something you can review for years and years to come. With our high quality albums and prints, you can know that your wedding photos, love story, family pictures, and any captured photos will be safe and preserved as an heirloom for years and years to come.
5 ways to share your memories with others
I am a firm believer that it is not enough just to document your own life and leave it at that. We need to be sharing our stories with others. This could be by means of scrapbooks, videos, family albums, and other heirloom items that get passed on from generation to generation. Sharing can also mean educating, posting to social media, and so much more.
