March 2021 Recap -- pregnancy, podcasts, and more
Wowwee, March was a heck of a month for us. I didn’t realize how crazy it was until I was sitting down to draft together this blog post and share all of the things that we posted and did in the last month. It’s been a wild one for sure. Some of the big hits were us announcing our pregnancy (obviously), launching a podcast, and diving more into sharing our entire journey online.
Annapolis, Maryland | November 9, 2020
November 9, 2020 I visited Maryland. I haven’t blogged about it for so long because, well, things just get in the way. But here we are—better late than never. I was actually in Annapolis, MD, to visit my sister who lives there. She wanted some holiday pictures to use for cards at the time, and I was happy to take a “work trip” and oblige.
Backing up your Memories (The Memories Podcast Ep. 004)
In this episode Katie talk and I about how to backup your memories in a safe and consistent way. We know this may seem like a boring topic, but it is so IMPORTANT. There’s nothing worse than working so hard. And documenting all your memories and losing them. Both myself and Katie have been through this to some extent with losing memories, and they share their stories too.
Our favorite Memory Keeping apps (The Memories Podcast Ep. 003)
Katie and I are really on a roll here, and we hope that you’re enjoying listening to the Memories Podcast. We have received so much great feedback so far, and truly appreciate all of our listeners. We’ve talked about establishing your Why when it comes to Memory Keeping, gave you a few clear steps for getting started with your own Memory Keeping journey, and now we’re going to share some fun and easy apps that can continue to help you get started.
Getting started with Memory Keeping (The Memories Podcast Ep. 002)
In this podcast Katie and I chat about the beginning stages of getting started with Memory Keeping. We explain that getting started can feel pretty overwhelming—you might be wondering what gear you need, what programs to use, how often to do it and how to keep everything organized and safe. So, we’ve have broken it down into a little timeline of what you need to do next.
TEACHING YOU HOW TO DOCUMENT YOUR MEMORIES | I launched a podcast (The Memories Podcast Ep. 001)
Hey! Welcome to The Memories Podcast--a podcast dedicated to helping busy families learn how to document their everyday lives using easy and consistent methods. We’re here to teach you the tried and true methods that we’ve picked up over the years of how to document your everyday moments when life just seems way too busy. We talk about our personal lives, the lessons we’ve learned, and all of the mistakes we may have made along the way. Think of this as your one stop shop for mama gossip, photographer tips and tricks, real life fails and triumphs, and your final reason to whip out the camera.
I'm Pregnant!!
So, in case you missed it, I’m pregnant!! My husband and I announced to the world this past Monday that we are expecting a little one this coming September. We’ve known since the beginning on January, but have been keeping my little bump a secret until now. It’s so refreshing to finally be able to tell all of you and feel your love and support. We’ve been creating videos as a form of memory keeping, and have been recording everything along the way.
My trip to DC during the 2020 election
I visited one of my sisters, Sara, in Maryland between November 6th-10th. She had moved there earlier in the fall and wanted some visitors, so of course I took her up on that offer. She also wanted pictures for Holiday cards, and as I’m always the go-to family photographer, I was thankful I could say it was a “work trip.” During that time we did many things including doing a day tour of the National Mall and Memorial Parks in Washington, DC.
