My Book Rating System

I am a pretty harsh rater. But I read too many books to just generically rate everything that was “good” four or five stars. When you read so much so often like me I have to be super selective with how I rate. I hate using “whether I would recommend something” as a rating system because I will recommend a two or three star to someone who I think might be more into that type of book than me.

Also, this is my first year where I’ve gotten really harsh like this. So some of my old ratings might change based on my current new rating system.

5- obsessed! I probably googled character art and found a Spotify playlist immediately. I’d add to cart every special edition if I could.

4- this book was great!! Surpassed my expectations.

3- average. I enjoyed this book but will probably forget about the plot or characters entirely in a couple days…

2- didn’t care for this book. Usually had a problem with the storytelling, characters, or plot.
