Books I plan to re-read soon

I have a confession to make… I’m not usually a re-reader. 😅 With a hundred or so unread books sitting on my shelves and a never-ending TBR list calling my name, I’ve always struggled with the idea of picking up a book I’ve already read instead of discovering something new. There are just too many stories waiting to be experienced!

But this year is a little different. For the first time, I actually have a list of books I plan to revisit—and honestly, I’m kind of excited about it. The biggest reason? Upcoming releases.

There’s something special about returning to a world you already love before jumping into the next chapter. It’s like visiting an old friend. You remember the big moments, but you also notice little details you missed the first time around.

Here are the books currently at the top of my reread list:

The Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gillig

This one was an easy choice. I was completely obsessed with this book when I read it last year. The atmosphere, the gothic setting, the magic system, and the overall feeling of this story made it one I knew I wanted to experience again.

The Stonewater duology wraps up with “The Knave and the Moon,” releasing September 1st, so I want to reread “The Knight and the Moth” before diving into the conclusion. While I still remember a lot of the plot, I mostly want to return for the vibes—and honestly, sometimes that’s the best reason to reread a book.

A Court of Thorns and Roses Series by Sarah J. Maas

This is another world I’m excited to revisit. With more books in the ACOTAR universe expected in the future, I want a fresh reminder of where everything began. I’m planning to reread the series before I read any of the upcoming releases so I can fully immerse myself back into Prythian, the characters, and all the details that make this series such a beloved fantasy romance staple. Plus… there’s just something comforting about returning to a world that feels familiar.

Legendborn by Tracy Deonn

I have been waiting for the next installment in this series, and because of that, I think a reread around the holidays will be perfect. I haven’t found a confirmed release date for the next book yet, but with rumors pointing toward late this year or possibly early 2027, I want to refresh my memory before continuing. This series is packed with magic, history, secrets, and twists, and I know there are details I’ll appreciate more the second time around.

So while I may still be a “one-and-done” reader most of the time, I’m starting to understand the magic of rereading. Sometimes books aren’t just stories—they’re places we’ve visited before. And sometimes, going back is just as exciting as discovering something new.
