I can't even put into words my feelings! Trevor and I have been talking about purchasing a house since we decided to move in together. Paying for a mortgage rather than paying for rent is financially smarter in our minds--so, we knew this was something we really wanted to do.
It all kind of happened really fast. We had talked about it plenty. But, then after our Indiana trip, we decided that it was time to start looking. Our lease at our apartment was scheduled to end at the end of this year, so we wanted to see if we could have a house lined up before then. Turns out we picked a house WAY sooner than the end of the year.
This house was the VERY FIRST house we saw. And we could not ever stop thinking about it after that. Every other house we looked at was always being compared to this first house. We definitely didn't want to be silly first time buyers and rush into anything, but one night we talked and decided that this was definitely the one. We needed to swoop in and put in an offer before someone else did and our dream house was gone.
We scheduled to see the house for like the third time in two weeks, talked with our realtor, and then the next thing we knew we were putting in an offer. After leaving the house, our realtor called back in minutes saying the sellers countered... and we accepted their counter! It was insane. I called my mom, he called his, haha! And then we cried joyful tears on the way home!
The next things were not so fun--money, signing papers, making agreements and arrangements, blah,blah,blah. But then... about a month later... the house was ours!
