May 2017 Goals

One thing that I've been learning lately is to let my goals guide my life but never dictate my life. I didn't cross as many things off my goals list this past month, but I accomplished a lot more things than I had expected. Sometimes life takes you in a different direction and you have to be okay with that.

Last month's Goals:

+ Run at least twice a week after work.

Nope. Nope. Nope. I keep adding this to my goals. I keep failing. I think I need to try something new.

+ Clean out my wardrobe and organize my outfits.

I did this! I tried on some of my stuff and got rid of what I wasn't wearing and what didn't fit. And then, to celebrate, I purchased some new, more sustainable, office clothes that will last me a long time.

+ Start a garden and worm composting.

We did this too! It was a blast planting a garden, and I think Trevor is really enjoying taking care of the worms. My stuff is starting to sprout and maybe by the end of next month some of it will be almost big enough to harvest.

+ Be more conscious of my sugar intake.

I made this goal with the idea of NOT totally cutting my sugar out in mind. I definitely wanted to make a more conscious ever to consider the junk I was eating, but I didn't attempt to go cold turkey on sugar. I still ate it, but I was definitely more considerate of what I was putting into my body.

+ Learn about Patient Portal at work.

This just wasn't in my cards this month. Not because I didn't take the time or have the desire, but rather because things got moved around at work. I was assigned slightly different tasks, so my full attention went to that and learned the things needed for these tasks rather than this new thing I had interest in.

+ Read at least 2 books (aka get out of this reading slump).

I'm still stuck. It's a bad one ya'll. PLEASE SEND HELP!

+ Do something new in Kansas City.

Since I'm new to the Kansas City area still, I am consistently doing something new. But when making this goal I had in mind that I would actively seek out something amazing! I didn't take the time to do this, so this goal didn't really get accomplished.

May Goals:

+ Restart my Facebook daily photo diary.

+ Create an actual night routine that I can be consistent with.

+ Join a KC Blogger group on Facebook and be an active member.

+ Do it now! Get things done that I've been putting off (like the car, tshirt quilt, etc.)

+ Walk on the treadmill at work at least twice a week.

+ Have a no spending week and focus more this month on saving.

+ Do something new in Kansas City.
