My auto-buy authors
Who are some of your favorite authors that you know you’ll just automatically buy whatever books they write?? 🩶✨📚 Some of these authors wrote my favorite books. Some of these authors were with me from the very beginning of my reading journey. And some of these authors just can never miss so my loyalty to them is so fierce.
There are certain authors that have earned a permanent spot on my auto-buy list. The moment they announce a new release, I don't need to read the synopsis or wait for reviews—I already know it's coming home with me.
If you've followed me for a while, these names probably won't surprise you. Rachel Gillig's dark, atmospheric fantasy feels like it was written specifically for my gothic-loving heart. Ashley Poston somehow writes stories that are equal parts magical and deeply emotional. Lyla Sage and Elsie Silver are my comfort reads when I'm craving small-town romance with unforgettable characters. Emily Henry has mastered the art of making me laugh, cry, and immediately miss the characters when I finish the last page. Ali Hazelwood is always a fun, bingeable read, while Scarlett St. Clair scratches that mythology and romantasy itch every single time. And Emily McIntire? Her darker, twisted retellings never fail to keep me hooked.
Looking back at my reading over the years, I've realized I'm a very author-loyal reader. Once an author earns my trust, I'll happily follow them into almost any genre or premise because I know I can count on their storytelling, characters, and writing style. That's become far more important to me than chasing whatever book is currently trending.
Of course, not every book from these authors becomes a five-star favorite. Even my favorite writers have books that land closer to three or four stars for me. But they've consistently written enough stories that I've loved that they've earned the benefit of the doubt—and that's a pretty special thing.
So now I'm curious... who are your auto-buy authors? Who could announce a new book tomorrow and you'd preorder it without reading a single word of the description? Those are always the recommendations I pay attention to.
