Recap of 2015 + Reader Survey

As 2016 is fast approaching, it is common for bloggers to begin taking a look at what worked and what didn't and reflect on how this past year went. Now is the time to make changes like: updating your look, changing your posting schedule, experimenting with something new, and more! I am excited to continue growing this blog.

I've gotten a lot of new followers this year! Welcome--it is fabulous to have you here. I figured I'd start out this post with a little story about my blogging journey.

My Blogging Journey

I started my blog my freshman year of college as a way to stay connected with friends and family. Shortly after starting my blog I fell in love with everything going on in this new online world and changed my major from psychology/counseling to Informatics (aka computer science) with a focus in psychology and marketing. Blogging changed my life in that it changed my career path, my ideas about the world, and who I am right this moment. Blogging has brought about a whole new person in me, and I absolutely love who I've become.

My blog has undergone a lot of different transitions. And most everything I learned about blogging I learned through Danyzell's Blog! This was my first blog--my baby! I haven't had the courage to delete it yet, so it's still visible on the internet, but all of those memories of creating the design, learning how to express myself, and figuring out everything about a blog makes me never want to take it down.

On March 20, 2015 I officially launched Danyell Bailey's Blog (this blog you are on right now)! I needed something new, fresh, and clean, and this blog gave me the opportunity to grow up and change. You can read more about my move here.

Besides my own blogs, I have been blogging for sites like WeAreIU, IT Training Tips, The New Blak, and other occasional quest posts. I have met a lot of amazing people, and learned so much that sometimes I think my mind is going to explode. This journey has been a good one, it has given me many great opportunities, and it is one that I never want to stop riding on.

I love making changes to my blog that positively affect the reader experience. Making sure that your readers are having the best time on your site is going to ensure that more and more people turn into avid followers. To help me do this, I have put together a nice reader survey. I want to hear what you all have to say! Please, please, please take the time to fill it out and give me your input. I really appreciate it.

My best posts.

Finals Week Outfits

What's the perfect combination between casual and cute? When the time to take finals rolls around you're going to want to be comfy, warm, and confident. For me, I like to still look cute (because it gives me confidence) yet be able to slump back and relax as I trudge away on test for the next two hours. Read more here!

How To Create a Blogging Schedule

Some people may like to go with the flow and blog when they please. But that's not me. I like to have everything planned out ahead of time. While I sometimes might not get everything posted that I had intended to, I still like the idea of having everything ready to go. Each month I have a theme for my blog and this month's theme is planning--so, why not talk about how I plan out my blog posts. Read more here!

How to Plan for a Day of Working from Home

Working from home is becoming more common. Technology has aided us in getting everything done that we need to from the comfort of our bed and our pajamas. Did you know that 30 million people work from a home office at least once a week? That's totally awesome. Staying focused while working from home can be a little tricky at first, but once you figure out your system you're good to go. Read more here!

Paper vs. Digital

This is an issue that I've struggled with a lot in the past. As I try to get a grasp on an organized life I've struggled with the idea of whether writing something down or typing it onto an online document in the cloud is better. Should I use a paper planner or a digital planner? Read more here!

How to Add Hours to Your Day

Making the most of the time you have to accomplish things everyday is a huge factor to how you will feel about yourself. Getting things done, especially right in the morning, increases productivity throughout the entire rest of your day and week! Read more here!

How to Make Your Business Stand Out on Social Media

Using social media as a business and using it as a personal user is not very different! No matter what platform you are using, whether it be Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, or anything else, the things that a business needs to do to stand out are very similar to the things a personal user will need to do in order to stand out. What It's Like Living With Migraines

I've been away for a long time. And being away kills me. I love blogging and social media-ing (yeah, I know it's not a verb, but I just made it one!), so forcing myself to take a break from the online world slightly was a bit of a challenge. As horrible as it was, I needed to take a break--I had started getting migraines very frequently. Since 7th grade I've suffered from regular migraines; the type of migraines that cause me to lose my vision, speak weird, and feel completely unlike myself. When I get a migraine it shuts me down and there is really nothing I can do about it. Read more here!

Thank you to all of my family, friends, followers, and passerbys! I appreciate every single one of you. I love you to the moon and back. Please don't forget to fill out my reader survey, and have a wonderful holiday season!!
