Meet Melody | Blogger Series
As blogging continues to become more and more popular, I've had the opportunity to meet so many people. There are people who blog about life, food, fashion, business, and so much more. I love seeing what everyone has to say about their own personal blogging journey, and that's what this series is all about!
Meet Melody!
First off, tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog.
Hi-ya! My name is Melody! I am self-improvement enthusiast, a blogger (at www.marevoli.com), and expat currently living in South Korea. I am a proud INFP, a natural haired free-spirited Gemini/Cancer cusp baby who is prefers to swim in the deep end. I choose to live my life with the belief that we all owe it to ourselves to live a passion-fueled life. Although this means something different to everyone, I aim to inspire others to take steps toward their dreams and to believe in their awesome. What inspired you to start blogging?
I originally started to blog because I wanted to have an outlet to express myself. I always admired those who were able to express themselves online—whether it was YouTube, blogging, or photography. After years of thinking about it but taking no action, I realized that the only thing holding me back was fear—I was scared of what people would think. During the summer of 2013, I decided to finally register with WordPress and see what happened. Fast forward to the present, I’ve changed my blog’s name, found my niche, found amazing supporters, and am still enjoying the self-expression and community that the blogosphere provides. How did you got where you are?
It’s been a long journey! As I mentioned above, I started my blog in 2013 and with a totally different concept. In the beginning, I mostly wrote music reviews and talked about food. After a few months, I realized I was aching to write about things of more depth. I wanted an outlet to express how I was truly feeling about the things going on in my life. I wanted an outlet to openly decipher what it all meant. So in 2014, I decided to do just that. I wrote more personally and shared these posts on social media—no matter how nervous it made me to do so! Sadly, blogging took a back seat during my final semester in school (summer of 2014). After graduating and planning my next big move (literally, I ended up moving across the world), I re-launched with a brand new site and a whole new sense of focus. What do you hope to achieve with your blog?
My ultimate goal is for my blog to be a platform for positivity, growth, and connection. I want my humble internet abode to inspire others to truly live their life, chase their dreams, and to enjoy the (many) plot twists along the way.Where you afraid to begin your blogging journey?
I definitely was afraid when I first decided to create my blog. The idea of putting my thoughts out there for people to read and judge still gets to nervous sometimes! But the warm fuzzy feelings I get when I am creating something and expressing myself trump the feelings of fear every time, which is what keeps me going. Over the years, my blog has changed from focusing solely on music and food to being more personal posts about my life, travel, and inspiration. Because my ultimate goal is to be a full-time creative entrepreneur, I'm always trying to learn as much as I can about running a success online space. This year, I've taken a blogging e-course called Bright Eyed and Blog Hearted by Rachel MacDonald and learned so tricks and tools to use. What do you imagine your blog will be like next year at this time?
This time next year, my goal is to be maintaining a thriving community/ tribe and providing useful content to them. I plan to also have launched services and online resources which will help me reach my ultimate goal of turning my blog into a profitable creative business. How has blogging changed your life?
Blogging has enabled me to connect with amazing people that I would’ve never met otherwise. These connections are everything and being able to watch/participate (even if it’s just virtually) in their journey is incredibly inspiring. Blogging has also been an awesome way to document my own evolution. It’s easy to forget how far you’ve come but my online space provides me the ability to travel back and appreciate how far I’ve come. Blogging keeps me inspired to continue creating and working towards creating the life of my dreams.I want to give a BIG thank you to Melody for blogging here today! She is an amazing person, and I hope you all can just soak up all of this happiness that she protrudes. Please don't forget to check out her blog and let her know that you found her via Danyell Bailey's Blog--I'm sure she'd love that!
