How to Get the Best Sleep
I've raged this month about how important is to create routines that work well with your lifestyle. Even after you've started your morning off right a lot can happen during your 8 hour work day. That's why its so important to end your day on a good note, too. Using these tips and tricks that I've learned through my experiences can help you feel happier and healthier before you drift to sleep.
Like I mentioned in my morning routine post, I'm a college student with very fluctuating schedules, so creating routines has always been a struggle for me. But finally, I think I have mastered it! In order to make sure that I can go to sleep with ease I've created two routines--something for when I have an evening at home and time to relax plus a routine for days where I don't get home until late.
Here are my routines:

While I say I've found something that works for me, keep in mind that things are always moving around. I think that that is a key part of creating routines--being able to handle the change when it arises. By created a routine for late nights and early nights I've already factored in a lot of the possibilities of how this routine could change.
Even when I preach it, I know that creating a system that works for you isn't always that easy. Just make sure to focus on the idea that these routines are for your health, your happiness, and should be a way that you can make yourself feel better. Here are some tips and tricks to do just that! This is a list of important and healthy things you can add into your nighttime routine.
Make a healthy dinner.
I've heard that people who cook at home are more likely to eat healthy, stick to a diet, and maintain that healthy happy weight we all desire. So, why not make dinners a part of our routine? I love scouring Pinterest to find the healthiest meals with the tastiest ingredients. Check out my Pinterest, and follow me for some great dinner inspiration.
Remove all of your make-up.
My oh my is this important!! I've struggled with acne for years, and still am. So my nighttime routine HAS to include a time for me to pamper and prep my face. Your body can do so much for you while you sleep, and I want to make sure that I can get the best beauty out of my necessary rest. Ladies, if you take all of your makeup off the night before, I swear you will feel so much more fresh and clean come morning, plus, you won't have all that extra nasty eye goop you don't want anyone to see.
Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.
Rubbing lotion all over your body (and especially your hands) can help your skin look glowing and amazing. Guys, I even recommend this for you, I mean come on--every lady likes a fresh glowing man. Anyways, I'm sure you all know the benefits of moisturizing!
Relax with an herbal tea.
I really like green tea (well I like coffee more, but bed time isn't the time for caffeine), so I usually try to drink a cup before bed. Using milk instead of water really calms me and makes me feel sleepy and relaxed. Especially on days when I take a bath I always want tea at night. Green tea also has some amazing beauty and health benefits that I can't pass up.
Plan and organize for tomorrow.
This is by far my favorite thing to do before bed. I'm a planner, like I mean mega planner, so getting out all of my to do lists and organizing my calendars before I go to bed is calming and fun for me. Not only does it prepare me for the upcoming day, it also helps relieve anxiety, not forget things, and make sure that I am prepped for any unexpected events. While not everyone likes planning the way that I do it can still be beneficial to add this into your nightly routine because it is going to create success in your life for the next day.
Don't forget to hydrate.
You're supposed to drink those eight classes of water a day, but sometime we just don't hit that mark. While it's not the healthiest option I like to drink the last of the water that I missed throughout the day soon before bed. I wouldn't say I chug, but you could use that term. Water is healthy for your entire body, so hydrating yourself before bed will give your skin, your stomach, and all of your other organs the thing it needs to recuperate over night.
I hope that these tips and tricks can help you to live a happier and healthier life. Starting your day out right may be the key to a great morning, but you can't start that morning off well unless you prepped and prepared your body the night before.
